Perez Morris is proud to announce that Cynthia K. Curtin has been appointed by Ohio Governor Mike DeWine to serve as judge of the Stow Municipal Court. She will assume office on June 9, 2025.
Cynthia is a seasoned trial attorney representing national insurance carriers and retailers in personal injury, premises liability, and products liability matters. She also handles Special Investigative Unit (SIU) matters, conducts Examinations Under Oath (EUOs), and provides coverage analysis and legal opinions.
An active member in her community, Cynthia was a candidate for Summit County Council and served as Chairman and Vice Chairman of the Hudson Planning Commission. She also participated in fundraising efforts for several local organizations, including Seton Catholic School, Western Reserve Academy, and Children’s Ballet Theatre.
The Stow Municipal Court has jurisdiction over criminal, traffic, and civil matters arising in sixteen communities in northern Summit County. The Court also operates specialized programs, including a mental health docket and community control initiatives, which provide structured alternatives to traditional sentencing.
Cynthia will succeed Judge Kim Hoover and complete the remainder of the term. She will need to run for election in November 2025 to retain the seat.
Congratulations to Cynthia on her appointment to the bench! We thank her for her dedicated service to the legal profession and the people of Ohio.
